'Now seriously, the best mouthpieces I've ever owned... I currently play two Willson 2900 euphoniums and they sound spectacular... it's interesting that one (the oldest, 30 years old) fits better with the 4D/4.5D, and the other, the "newer" one (20 years old), fits better with the 4D+/4.5D+... Of the mouthpieces, I highlight their comfort, ease of play, the evenness of the sound throughout the register, and the color it gives to the instruments... The "D" model gives me an extra darkness and roundness in the sound, and the "D+" model gives me much more clarity, without losing that round sound, but with an incredible projection... the interesting thing is that depending on the euphonium I use, the D model or the D+ model suits me better, even though they are the same brand and model...![]()
On the other hand, I play a narrow-tube valve trombone on which I use the 5.5C... very happy with it.'![]()
